I am PCSing to North VA in few weeks. I searched the net but only found few pigs in West Virginia for me to hunt. I am thinking about North Carolina or Tenesse or even South Carolina, but I don't have any info on this.
I would appreciate anyones info about hunting wild pigs close to North VA.
Meanwhile I will be stopping in Texas for a week to hunt Javalinas and hogs in Brownfield area. Few years back I paid 100 dollars for a semiguided hunt for 2 meat hogs or one trophy. I got 2 nice ones both 130-150 pound range.
This time I am going for a trophy hunt there, the guide that leases the ranch is a great guy, and the hunt is cheap. He gives you 23 hours and sets you up where the pigs are. You can hunt at night there too, which is adrenaline pumping. It is not guided but he gives you all the info and sets you up in the stand or you can spot and stalk them at night.
Wish me good luck, I hope I get a good trophy boar, if not I guess the Black Bears in VA will be my next hobby.
Hope you guys are doing fine and getting few pigs. Maybe in few years the tags will become cheaper if not expensive.
