Well I finally got to take my Simitar Horned Oryx hunt toady after waiting almost a year. I got this hunt in a trade for some work I did for the man who owns the ranch. I was taken on a high fence 8000 acre ranch near Austin with a 300 Win. mag at about 125 yards. Single shot through the lung was the first shot which would have probably put her down after a little run but the rancher told me to take another one so I hit her a second time to put her down after a short run. She fell just short of the woods you see on the picture. This was a cow since that was all I was allowed to take that measures 39" in length. The ranchers son-in-law went on the hunt with me and he took a American Buffalo. It was huge. I never knew they were this big until I was actually next to one. All in all it was definately a good weekday away from work. Wish more of my weekdays were like this.
