Well I guess I'm not allowed to use the message feature on this board so...

Wild1 I'll email you my cell #. I'm 15 minutes from Bass Pro so anytime afternoon will work.

NWTG Hunter - If you can email me at acousticmood@yahoo.com - I'll send you my email. Were you at the Turkey Caller's Association table during BPS's fall hunting deal? If so I might have met you there.

Anyway - hope we can hook up tomorrow and make some plans.

Cameron - I replied with my cell #.

I just got back from there a bit ago - picked up my liscense and a couple of boar tags. Good to go!

I've got a lesson that's going to make it tough for me to get there much before 1:30. Hope we can still hook up.

Sorry fellas, I didn't get Cameron's e-mail until later this evening (6:00pm). I was at BPS from 11:00 until about 1:00, I bought two pairs of gloves. If you guys want to try again, I'm in. I'll e-mail my number to Cameron. Start planning a hog hunt !! What about a local hunt soon and maybe plan another hunt at Chopper's in November.....?

Cameron...looks like you have a whole hunting party ready to go? Sorry I could not make BPS but was there Friday night. Sure has calmed down a bunch. I will give you a buzz Sunday afternoon and we will look San Tim over a bit, around that house. Also, will look to see if I can find a live body around the property I need access to. Have you made plans with any of the others you met at BPS?

BOWHUNTER....you scouting bears???? Local???? I got a few spots....

Randy, made no plans. But call me when you are finished with the elks.

Gary, you left a little too soon. I paged you but you never came to the service desk cause you probably had already left.

Ya if we can find a spot we definitely have a hunting party ready to shoot.

Gary, do you shoot a bow?

Thanks,

Be very careful of trespassing on unposted land. If it does not belong to you, it DOES belong to someone else and they do not need to post it. The responsibility of gaining permission falls on your shoulders.
And welcome to the frustrating sport of hunting in Southern CA.

Hey Cameron,

I scouted out the Cucamonga Canyon today - tried to get to the S.B. National Forest - no luck. All roads led to private property with fences and the like. I think the access needs to be from Lytle Creek.

I should be getting those BLM maps this week. If you guys do a bow hunt and let me tag along - I'll take the photos and do the grunt work.

Good meeting you yesterday.

Criteria for private landowners who don't want people on their land.

The property must be:

Posted, three signs to the mile

And/Or

Fenced

And/Or

Under cultivation

Unposted, unfenced land is open (according to CA law), even though it may be privately owned. May not make you any friends with the landowner, but the worst they can do is tell you to get off. If you come back after that, then you may be prosecuted.

Best bet is to ask permission. Saves goodwill with the landowner, makes hunters look better, and may open up even more doors (gates) if you play it right.

If you're talking west of I-10 and north of I-60 that is now Norton Youngblood Park. I can assure the wardens watch that place like a hawk. The rest is pretty much fenced or under construction.

Just be willing to pay the piper if you get caught sneaking.

Not yet - I tried to get in from Rancho - it was a pipe dream. I'm going to do some exploring of the Lytle Creek area next tho'.
