yea time to get out the slug barrel and put some pork in the freezer
Supposedly... I know I have difficulty pinpointing exactly where a pig comes from sometimes...Do pig tags identify location of the kill?
So, just to make this more confusing...why should you leave? A guy claiming to own the land tries to shoo you off and you just go? It is not posted, it is not fenced...so why would you believe he really owns it? Perhaps he is an enviro freak or a hunter who does not want the competition, or a dope grower. I know on first instinct it seems pretty unreasonable to ask a man to prove he owns the land, but if he has not posted it or fenced it, I think asking for some proof he owns it is pretty reasonable. Then when you return and get "prosecuted" you say you were never warned, and he had no credibility, so you didn't believe him. I am bringing this up because it has been done. I have a warden who is a friend, so I am not going to elaborate, but suffice it to say...land owners have a responsibility in this too, and it is defendable in court.Criteria for private landowners who don't want people on their land.

Unposted, unfenced land is open (according to CA law), even though it may be privately owned. May not make you any friends with the landowner, but the worst they can do is tell you to get off. If you come back after that, then you may be prosecuted.

Real simple. If the person tells you to leave and really IS the landowner (or a caretaker), then you have been notified that you are trespassing, and are at that moment breaking the law unless you leave the property. So, just to make this more confusing...why should you leave?
Hey guys - I'd like to hook up with you also if that's o.k. - I'm strictly a rifle hunter, but if that doesn't work on the property I could tag along and take video or photos - I really just need to learn a few things about hunting anything with legs.Hey Surfwest, we tried to hook up last year - let's try again, I'm in Riverside also.
