So. Cal Quail Hunting

Hello, new member form Orange County. My friends and I have been hunting quail in Central CA for a few years now but are looking for some closer places. We found a few spots just north of the Cleveland National Forest this weekend and had some luck but were wondering if there were any good spots in the forest itself. If anyone knows of some good quail habitat with access down there we would love to check it out.

I want to take my old lady hunting quail this week and have no idea where to head for quail up in big bear?

Big Bear?

I've been going to Big Bear all of my life and I've never seen a Quail. Is it strictly Mountain Quail or are Valley Quail in the mix?
