Sport Fishing Regulations now Online, Published Version Available by March 15

The California Fish and Game Commission has posted the 2003 Freshwater and Ocean Sport Fishing regulations to the Internet, making it available to everyone with access to the Department of Fish and Game's (DFG) Web site at http://www.dfg.ca.gov. The traditional regulation booklet is being printed and is expected to be available to license agents no later than March 15.
The Freshwater Sport Fishing Regulations, which is published annually, can be accessed at http://www.dfg.ca.gov/fg_comm/2003/freshfish03.pdf. The regulations are effective from March 1, 2003 through Feb. 28, 2004. Under the new regulations, anglers are now required to return 2003 Steelhead Trout Catch Report-restoration cards to DFG by Jan. 31, 2004.
The new Ocean Sport Fishing Regulations, also published annually, can be accessed at http://www.dfg.ca.gov/fg_comm/2003/oceanfish03.pdf.
Supplements updating the regulations contained in the booklets are released in June of each year. The supplements update the ocean and inland salmon regulations and any regulations that have changed since the publication of the current regulation booklet. When each supplement is released, all prior supplements should be discarded. The supplements will not contain the complete set of regulations contained in the Sport Fishing Regulation Booklet.
