Stereo Cords and jacks

Can someone please tell me what wire inside the stereo cable goes to what prong on the female end? The copper wire goes to the base of the cable, the red wire goes to the middle, and the white goes to the tip of the cable. So on the female end, what prong goes to the base, middle and tip?

Do you have a meter that can check continuity? If so, you can just plug jacks together and check from wires to prongs.

No but I finally did figure it<missed the superbowl because of it.


It's the 2.5mm female plug from Pixcontroller
Tip - #1 prong
Middle - #2 prong
base - the third long prong

I wish this was on the pixcontroller website, Is it posted somewhere or do people have to figure it out each time?
