Congrats duckfever!

Sorry I didn't get a chance toget up there the sat before. But I'm not sorry this time now that I know you ran into the poison oak! LoL! Been up there 5-6 times and haven't seen squat but then I'm one of those lowly road hunters because my legs are shot and I don't get to far from the road. So if I read this right you found a good spot and waited for them to come to you or were you sitting just to take the shot?

How about turkey's see any of those?

Amen bro! Thanks for looking out. In my opinion, that is awesome. I am more than sure there are enough out there for all of us (or at least the ones willing to work for it like you did). Keep rocking it! It really help us newbies learn where, how and why. Out.

NO NO NO!

Congratulations on the public land hog! Outstanding job on making a very rare kill.

But you don't need to suffer from the Poison Oak! I am part of a trapping team, we spend too much time in that stuff.

Water neutralizes it. If it sits on your skin long enough to penetrate then you will have problems. If you have been working, sweating, it penetrates easier and quicker. If you rinse it off with soap and water, even biodegradable soap, no problem no itch.

I researched the hell out of it, and I have never had any symptoms from it, anymore. Just wash off asap afterwards. Even strait water sometimes works, but it is an oil so soap really helps.

If it gets into your hunting clothes you can get it later from wearing the same clothes. Solution: wash them in baking soda and water after exposure.

Don't suffer from that stuff again. Bring along a bar of bio d soap and find some water, wash up thoroughly and be happy for the rest of the week.

Again congrats on the hog. I won't be bothering you in that area, just a fun read. I would waste too much gas going back and forth to warrant it. Not everyone who reads this stuff is going to show up and try to hunt it. Those that do are either local or don't understand the laws of averages, returns vs investment. Cheaper to go guided close to home than drive for hours on a small chance of success...
