Ok...I see a quad in one of the pix.

Now why did you let this pig walk away?

It was a rough canyon and we would have had about a mile of rough dragging to where the 4 wheeler could go. BC wa pretty worked from a long morning of chasing the dogs up and down a few canyons. Had we not had two down it would have been a dead pig. He got lucky, we'll get him next time.

Definately one of those, "can't get there from here" issues... my bullet could get there... I could get there... and BDB could get there... but no quad was getting anywhere near there... if I didn't already have a pig down, I would have shot it in a heartbeat, but after the thrashing my body took chasing those dogs that morning, I just wasn't up for a mile long drag (albeit downhill, but in a thigh-deep cold crick). Peeps get hurt when they are exhausted, and I was exhausted... I took a pound out of the trigger and said "you're dead", then let off and we hiked out of there back to the Boars Nest for cocktail hour. It's all about the fun-quotient, and that pig was on the winning side of the fun quotient...

Way to go, fellas! You had pretty high hopes for the hunt, and glad it worked out as well as it did.

The weather sure got ugly this weekend, that's for sure.

Thanks Phil, and everyone else for the congrats and comments. Yeah, it turned real nasty up there at around 2:30 Saturday and it did nothing but get worse until we left at 9:30am on Sunday.

Congrats on the hogs men. Tradin' in those bows for dogs and rifles and rifles makes it a tad bit easier eh?

That's the truth... but I ain't given up bowhunting just yet... I had a lot of fun this past weekend, but I've had more fun on bowhunts where I haven't been sucessful... nice to bring home an animal every now and again!

Well,
I'm glad you guys got some hog's.Man it was a tough one for us this weekend west of Redding. No hogs,Wet,Wet,Wet and slippery.Couldn't get the generator to work and a bunch of other stuff I wouldn't bore you with.Hey, they can't all be pig roasts,it makes you appreciate the the good ones.Well, all I know is we still had a blast, wet and without power, but it didn't stop the spirit's from flowing(if you know what I mean!!)Got to be with the bud's for a few day's.Maybe next month we will get them....
