Tejon hunt - first day update

The plot is getting so good I almost forgot that I should post up and shed a little light...

Before I tell my little tale let me just say I had a great time. The ranch is beautiful (we hunted the north side) the cabin (house) we stayed in was large and comfortable with beds to spare. Our Tejon Rep, Ron, is truly a fine gentleman who did his best to steer everyone in to hogs.

I think everyone saw hogs at some point or another, sometimes the pigs were just a little to high and a little too late in the day to go after 'em. We had good weather until this morning when it rained which prevented us to hunt some of the higher ground. I wanted to stay longer today but I had to get home to see my kids before it got too late in the day...We had one pig down when I left, with guys out for the afternoon hunt.

I'll finish the story in a little bit, I need to take a shower...

I think you missed a few things..

The lost handgun was immediately preceeded by someone getting run over by their own vehicle..
The broken bolt action was actually a small explosion..

Dude that got run over was a mess when I saw him. One eye beat shut and it looked like he lost a fight with a bobcat in a phone booth. I would have malingered in camp the next morning but he sucked it up and went out, pirate patch and all.

I think I saw over 30 elk during the course of the weekend. A couple of real nice bulls in the mix.

I found a lot of elk sheds too.

Hey, Orso... you outta the shower yet? I just got told I better take one before I sit on the furniture. Best jump-n-run!

Oh, by the way... two more traditional arrows were launched today!

Actually, this story just wouldn't be right without pictures, and I just realized that the patch cord for my digital camera is in my bag at the office. Won't be able to upload anything until tomorrow.
