The extra gas money you save by not driving up North would outweigh the extra savings of going somewhere else. You also have to tip on a guided hunt and usually depending on the success you get your pig fairly early in the hunt and you're done. Hanging out w/ the crew on one of these hunts is worth its weight in gold as far as the experience and information you can gain from hanging out w/ veteran pig hunters who know Tejon. I would do a search regarding these hunts and then reconsider the cost factor. There aren't many hunts that allow free reign of approximately 110,000 acres with the chance of hunting for 2 1/2 days w/ no trophy fees. Plus you'll have plenty of help w/ processing your pig back at camp if your not well versed at it. Your talking a 45 minute drive from the SFV. I've been there 5 or 6 times now and have had an opportunity on every trip. The times I didn't bring anything home I had just a good of time watching my buddies bring home prok. Just being on that property is worth the 450-500.[/b]

I'm sure it must be fun and a great place to hunt pigs, but can't do it this time need to save some dough.
I got a mountain of bills to take care first or they will send my head to the taxidermy!
BTW you people camp in tents or ?

7mag, there's another one in May... save a few bucks a week over the next few months and jump on in!

I'll most likely continue to put together at least one of these a year as long as Tejon keeps hog hunts open. If you can't join us this year, then next year or the next. In addition to being a great place to hunt, it's also an excellent place to be a newbie. You'll get a ton of guidance from the veterans, which is often at least as good as hunting with a guide, but you have the opportunity (usually) to make the kill on your own, so you get the added satisfaction of "doing it yourself."

Oh yeah, sorry... it's camping, although there is an option of staying in the motels over in Gorman for those who can't handle the camping.

Hey Lonnie,

I'm not sending out the May packets until I get the January hunt all wrapped up. Too many different applications and checks laying around in my chaotic office is a recipe for disaster!
<

I do have your email and info stored and ready when I do start collecting for the May hunt though, no worries... and glad you'll be coming with us!

Luca Brasi... got your vm yesterday, but failed to save the phone number. The pigs are in BIG trouble, though... soon, they may sleep with the fishes (and deer, and pheasants, and ducks... in my freezer).

Hronk, missed your post... of COURSE there'll be a jacuzzi. We can all eat some of my famous venison chili, then we'll go sit in the spring pond on Bear Trap Canyon.

That looks like lucky 13 hunters for Tejon in January.

It's a long shot from 25. While there are still a couple of days until the absolute deadline, it's time to decide if you're willing to kick in the extra $50 for this hunt.

As long as we have at least 8, we can still hold the hunt.

Any latecomers wanna get in?

Any of you guys want out?

Coolio!

Luca Brasi will kick in!

So will Chirohunter and co.!

Chiro, I'll pick up the spackets maybe tomorrow. I expect you got my voice mail yesterday at work? Don't wanna infect the office with this cold, unless I caught it from you in the first place...

I'll have to talk to Barbara about how the additional payment needs to be made.

I know we have four in our group for sure and possibly three more. Of course if we have to pay $50 more dollars to have the place to ourselves (12 or more) my group will be ok with that too.[/b]

We ended up with a total of 5 for our group and can't wait to get there..........
