Well I will be headed up on the pig o rama the week of april 19. Hope to see some of you hog hunters up there on the North side. Two years ago I shot a nice hog going over 200 lbs. If you hog hunters are going to be up there that weekend stop on by and say high. I will be in a gold chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 with a Ted nuget bumper sticker for President. Camp will have a weekend warrior 5th wheel. Can't wait for the hunt. Who is going on the hunt on April.

I was up Friday till about 130pm. Fog was so bad it actually turned into rain and we were almost on the south side and roads started getting chitty so we got the hell out before it got too bad. FYI it only took 30 mins of mod to light rain to kill roads!
Not a single pig seen!!! Never has happened to me in 8 years on ranch!

Ok guys I was up there Friday till 200pm!!!! We started off from m front door at 400am and were through the front gate by 515am.
I have been addicted to this one canyon since I always see pigs, and see massive sign but no one seems to hunt it, being that there isn't any fresh traffic etc...
We got to the area about 545 am and were already seeing pigs, we chased one group over 1/2 mile but once we got setup we realized that they were all sows with boobies, so we let them go and kept looking.
After drivin a lil further I stopped at a major pig crossing and decided to take a hike up and follow it, wow am I glad I did.
I was right in the middle of them, over 40 pigs surrounded me even caught a glimpse of a black and whitey....I saw a nice calico boar that is a lil unusual for tejon but he was sitting at 540yrds and in a terrible spot for recovery so I let him go on his merry way. As soon Asi pulled up off him a sow walked past me at 5 yards and got pissed that was there!! She snorted and huffed at me and took off screaming mad! As did the rest of them, straight up over 1000yrds in a flash!

By now my buddy had joined me on the knoll halfway up this hill and as we started heading to the jeep I noticed something up the hill and to the left a bit. It was a giant boar!!!!!
This pig looked like one of those 4h pigskin the pen at the county fair, and I am not exaggerating one bit, and if your questioning my eyes they are 20/10 vision with swarvoski el 12x50 binos!!!
This pig smelled us and was exiting his home turf but was so big he just waddles away. He was at 650yrds up hill, when we first saw him and even with my 7mm wsm I decided to let it be! Just wish I had a camera.
I know I know. What do I think it weighed??????? Well considering we killed a 280lbs boar 3 hrs later, this pig was every bit of 400+lbs!!! Been up here on tejon 8 yrs + and have yet to see a pig even close to this!!!
I do know this, I know where he lives, and how to get there at a better angle sooooooll, stay tuned to next Friday when I commit myself to baggin this pig!!!!!

I tried to post a link to the wild pig management hunt but it says "waiting for moderator approval". If you click on pigs, it's on the left side.
