Yep.....my group of 5 guys, 100% success. Pierpoint Scott saw it all. We killed two Friday evening. Saturday morning three of us slept in. Two guys went out and came back with 2 hogs by 11am. We took the last guy out at 2pm and he shot a sleeping hog at 4pm.

I put my 74 years young dad at a spot on Friday evening and when went back to pick him up at sunset only to find out I was breaking my back trying to load a 230 lbs gutted boar in the truck. The smallest hog we killed was 177 gutted. One hog we had to cut into three pieces to pack it out because it decided to do the harlem shake off the ridgetop and 200 yards down into s steep ravine. Overall we've seen about 30 hogs total and we only went up the mountains twice from camp.

It was a good one but not our most impressive record. We've done better else where.
There were a total of 42 hunters according to the announcement in the orientation, although I was hunter number 058. Not sure if there were more hunters than the number announced. There were a total of 12 hogs killed when we left at 9am Sunday morning. Our group accounted for 5 of the 12 hogs.

wOW you guys must have it dialed in there. Maybe some others just hadn't reported kills by then.

Man I really gotta check that place out one day. Soon. We just got back from Texas and finally got to shoot a hog but couldn't recover it so I'm gunning for redemption.

How was the weekend Kcravnit ?? Im trying to learn what style was working up there. I know the siting in the shade sounds like the most relaxing. But I also get that sum times u have to get out there and work hard to get what you are after. Hope u did ok out there.

When we left at 9am Sunday, there were many hunters still up in the mountains. There could be more kills that came in after we left. It would cost you less for a Tejon hog hunt than a TX hog hunt after you figure all the travel expenses. Although I really miss those TX night hunts, especially those full moon nighst on harvested wheat or corn fields and nightvision scope.

I have fam in tx. Hunt would b free. Im sure we could even crash with my cuz. We just need to drive out there and take a lot of ice chest. We can kill as many hogs as we want and than bring all that meat back home. I don't think its that much when u factor in the stuff I can get for free. All we need to pay for is food and gas. Oh and sum ice stops on the way back home.

When are we going!!!!........ :)

Oh we've done things like that before. Drove out there, killed some pigs and exotic deer, bought ice chest, stuffed with meat and ice, rental U-haul trailer, and towed back. Never slept in hotel. Pitched cots on the grass in rest areas and crashed.

only 1460 miles away. So you let me know when ur ready for a long drive. I will send my cuz a text and ask if its already to hot. We don't want to b there if its hot as hell. I swore I saw the devil run across the road one time. All we have to do is set up a time with my cuz or uncle. They both have land and last I asked they said pig is a free for all. If we want to kill them.. the rule is.." go for it"

Hey Scott, it was great to meet you too. When you told me where you were hunting, I had the feeling we weren't going to see a whole hog on the scale from you. We were done by Saturday afternoon and stucked around camp to BS and offered to help out some other guys that were having difficulties finding hogs. Apparently nobody took our offer so we stayed up late Saturday night BBQing pork ribs and BSing around the campfire. Slept until the sun beat down on us on Sunday morning. Then we packed up and called it a weekend. Two guys came in late Saturday night 11pm with a big boar and they thought they got the biggest hog on this hunt. I walked over and asked how much did their boar weigh? 217 lbs. One guy in the nearby trailer walked out, pointed his finger at me and said, "those guys got a 230 pounder." I responded, "NO!...you must be talking about those guys." and pointed my fingers at the guys in my campsite. We all had a good laugh.

are u guys kidding me?? 12 hogs out of 42? and i think your right jodi said there were 50 something guys huntin last weekend.
Did all those who didnt get hogs at least see some? And how in the hell did these guys not take liv2hunt up on some advise out there for sunday?

we were back at it friday am, hit the gate at 430 am and it was already light out. craziness!!! and 74 degrees at that...
just as we got through the gate we saw a nice group 12-15 all in the 180-220lbs range, no babies and they were already on the move to their beds.

we headed to our normal spots and again saw several groups but nothing big enough to chamber a round for.
we headed over the hill and came across the biggest antelope i have ever seen.... his tips were 6 inches above his ears, i have pics will post later.
came across a nice calico hog but he was into the brush so damn fast it wasnt even funny.
we decided to head out since the temp was 109 at the 138 at 11am!!!
back at it friday...
