Those are very nice critters. Just curious, what are the current state records for typical and non typical, also are these trad bow only records or are they all archery?

You have some taken some awesome bucks with the long/traditional bow. Thanks for posting the other record holders also. All of them are great bucks!

I can't help but noticing not a single tag on any of your bucks, including the fork you were packing out then shot another, nor the one on your mountain bike?

Kingwouldbe is a friend of mine through the Verdugo Hills Archery club. If he want's to get a picture without a tag wrapped around the antlers, so be it. He has taken a lot of great bucks locally and legally and worn out a lot of shoe leather doing it. Let's knock off the automatic questioning of the source and just take the opportunity to get fired up for deer season.

I believe that these would render the above statement false.

The reason I posted all of these pic's was I wanted to share with the hunting community and help everyone get pumped up for the opener this Saturday.

I will attempt to answer some of your questions:

First thanks for all the props I really do get a kick out of every ones comments and as you can see I'm new here.

* you might find it hard to believe but, Yes that is the state record for all bows, the spread of a buck is only one measurement out of 19 and so far it's stood for 7yr's
[be my guest in breaking it I know I'm trying to]

* I switched over to traditional bow in 1984 and never looked back, I love the simplicity of long bows and recurves.

* These are all mine unless I gave a name, these are my hunting buddy's, The state record was shot in July 1999 in so.cal.so you know what zone. He blew my mind when I shot him because he has two main beam's he's a 5x4x3 truly a once in a lifetime buck for this area

* The typical record has stood for 12 years and I heard that there is a new pending State record some where around the 150+ range and this is for all bows.

* For the boundary's of the Pacific Hybrid check with CBH but ruffly from SF south down the 5 to the 134 to the 15 to the 10 to the 86 to Mexico and everything to the west of this line

* I am just like you and from so. cal. all my life, I hunt on all public land and every one of these bucks came from public land.

* Bowhunting is not a sport for me, it's a way of life, I hunt on average 60+ days a year and I'm always scouting, If your looking for a secret to getting big bucks all the time I don't know one, what I do know is you cant shoot a big one if you keep shooting a little one and the only place I've seen deer is in the hills so that's where I'm at
