Geeze, even with a bent arrow the kid scored! My son's 1st buck, age 16
Is that a self-made bow?18YD LONGBOW SHOT
Well if thats the case I have a full deck of cardsFamily Tradition make it happen, every time you get out you get a playing card if you go out 10 times and I go out 30,40, 50 times I will always win it's the law.
Everyone has different goals some just want to shot a deer any deer and that's great, others want some thing to make book and still others are looking for the best there area has to offer.
A few years ago I found a 150+ buck down here and I hunted him 17 days straight, I watched him breed does, kick the stuffing out of a giant 3x3, I had him one time @ 10 yds, no shot, brush was to thick, but I watched him pass buy right behind his girl friend, then he vanished, I learned so much from him it's price lessAs for goals go you are spot on.
My goal is always to take a good representation for the area.
That may be a big fork or a 190 class booker, depends where I am.
What I like most though is to locate a buck I like then hunt THAT buck and THAT buck only.
I found that buck in the A zone but have not taken him yet, found him 2 years ago and he's still out there. See him every other 3rd or so but he's that big and old for a reason.
Hunting that way is hard to do but when it works there is nothing better.
