So at 7:30 this morning, I'm watching some great action start to work my way. About that time I get a message on my cell phone, indicating that a royal pizzin match took place on this thread last night.

The profanity, personal attacks, name calling, and off topic content of this thread has been removed.
I see no need for what took place. Personal attacks and cussing on this forum is not allowed, and when you all signed up, you agreed to these rules. Some of this was in retaliation, some of it was initiated. I dont care which side you were on, take the high road from here on out.

kingwouldbe has posted a lot of kills over the course of his life, and I sense that those that are frustrated, feel that he is bragging. Bragging and posting hunting photos on this website is fine, but condescending comments to another member in the tone of inferiority will not be allowed.

If you have a disagreement, keep your comments civil. If you have a criticism, make sure it is constructive.

BTW, did you notice one of the bucks above is now hard horned? that happend in the last 24 hrs.

Yay for LanLord, so far he has posted the best text on this thread. I like the pics and the descriptions, but I was ready to stop viewing the thread after yesterdays rude behavior by parties on both sides. In my prime, I could never be good enough to even come close to the world class hunters that are here on Jesse´s. So I don´t have an inferiority complex over it. I enjoy doing my thing in the outdoors to the best of my personal enjoyment, and I enjoy hearing about the super-hunter's great exploits and seeing the pics; especially when I can glean some tips from their skills and tactics that I think I can replicate with a little bit of work. I don't fish as well as the Bassmasters, don't hike as well as the best, and I don't hunt anywhere as well as the best on this site -- but I really enjoy seeing and hearing their accomplishments. I hope we keep seeing the results of our most successful members here; but I also hope we can treat everybody appropriately so that I don't become too embarrassed or shy to post a pic or tell the story of some mediocre game I harvest.

The trash has been taken out. Those that want to continue it will be shown the door also. That kind of crap isn't tolerated here.

Back to the pics.

KWB,
I noticed in post #200 you have a can of snuff in your back pocket.
Do you hunt w/ a pinch between the cheek and gums in?
If so, have you noticed an effect w/deer?

Jackrabbit, I agree w/your post 100%.

I'm going hunting tonight so if this continues, mods, just get me the names and I'll clean house when I get back. Go ahead and nuke any BS posts from those that can't grasp the request.

King, let me ask this... are most of the deer you have taken in the front range of the San Gabriels or do you hunt farther back in away from roads.

Also you mentioned earlier that 4-5 years ago you went int the trees...were you talking treestands or pine timber?

Keep em coming...oh that boar that your son took, that thing is UGLY!!!! looks like a wooly mammoth

If I told you that I'd have to kill you, lol.

The answer is both, let me share what happened last year and this will be the biggest tip I could give you other than giving you one of my spots. [ and I know you don't want that ]

Last year the rut was late, so the timing of every thing was off.

I looked in all my early spots and there was no deer, I'm talking spots that you see 5-10 bucks there when it's good, there was nothing there, I put in a good day there and never went back.

I kept doing that for 6 weeks until I found them. it was like every deer got an invite to a buck party [ the less deer I find the harder I work ]

Now I probably would of gotten skunked if I did not have so many spots.

One of the keys to getting bucks every year is you must have a lot of spots.

The deer change all the time, some of my spots that I killed a lot of big bucks out of, now don't produce, so I move on

Now it kills me to see someone in the area I hunt, so that has always kept pushing me farther and farther away from people [ thus the mt.bike, I can go farther and faster ]

Most are not willing to put in the time and energy that is required to be contestant.

If you are willing, then eventually it will come together.

I remember 20 years ago I found an absolutely Honey hole, big bucks were every where, then one year I saw some one there, I was blown away, It was a long way in, I thought if there willing to get in here they deserve it.

Look at my pic's, look at the terrain, it's every where, as a mater of fact I bet you've probably been there.I was glassing this bowl and I saw a few deer there spikes a fork and one doe

This buck

The rut should be in full swing so I kept an eye on her,she started to move off with a small forky I sat their for about an hour glassing and BAM there he is out of nowhere.

He just came out of then air, a spike and him got together and started to move in the direction of the doe and fork.

Bingo I know where he's going, I grab my stuff and circle to the east and down the mountain, it was wet and I could move fast, I put a big tree between him and me and kept getting closer and closer.

he was behind a little rise and I thought I will sneak right up to him and peek over and shoot him WRONG!!

I knew where he was going to, so I changed course,I went over to the trail the doe took.

As I was getting closer out came the spike and I watched him go by at 25 yds, I got ready for the big boy but he was a no show, I moved closer thinking he might have beaded down be hind the Noel.

Then I thought what if he already went by, so I moved closer and Bam there he is coming over the noel at 18yds I get ready for the shot and he turns and come strait at me.

As he is coming through some brush I come to full draw and he catches me right at the end and stops and looks right at me.

To late the Grizzly two blade buryes all the way into his left front shoulder and he wheels and runs a ways and does a hi-o-silver and

I can say from my perspective, what sticks out the most to me, is the relationship that you and your hunting buddies have together. It must be incredible to have 3 or 4 buddies who know your every move and vise versa. You all look like a huntin SEAL team, and I think it speaks volumes. I havent checked yet, but be sure to post these pics in your personal photo collection here as well. Its always motivating to have a point of reference of what is out there in the woods if you truly put in a ton of hard work. Not to sound like Dream Season, but I also enjoyed the panoramic photos, and the child photos. I have my 5 yr old practicing on a traditional right now. Havent shot an arrow yet. Just working on technique. Any pointers on that would be appreciated. As for your accomplishments - I think a ball coach once said, "It aint braggin if you back it up." There is a heckuva lot of time and effort in each one of those kills, especially being spot and stalks. Congrats to you and your buddies. joe

Most people don't realize how far down a bucks spine really is.

The chest cavity of all mammals is a close system and it has to be closed for the longs to work or the long will collapse.

This is a buck I found awhile back that I believe someone lost, look at how far down from the top of his back his spine is, and theirs no meat, so you still must ad for that.

Top 1/3 of a buck is no-mans land, there is nothing there that will kill him.

There are 3 kinds of hits:

# 1 chest cavity, witch, if you get in will always kill the animal, this includes gut shots [ you might not find it, but it will die ]

# 2 next is a Major blood sores. exp. artery, Major vane, femoral and jugular etc... this will also kill if the bleeding is not stop-ed [ my friend Scott Hargrove shot a buck in the neck cutting the jugular, the buck ran about 70yds and piled up, when he did his head was under his body and it pinched off the blood in his neck, when scott came to the buck he got up and ran another 100yds then piled up for good he had bleed out]

#3 is a superficial wound, meat, muscle, anything not in the first two, and they usually recover 100% from this wound

Just my

I stalked up on this big male while he was hunting for mice.

It's one of my favorites, look into his eye's, he is pure predator, and makes no apologies for it
