We are a party of 5 who are *really* counting on drawing to a pronghorn hunt this year :) Since we live in Tennessee, we aren't equipped for really cold weather. So, we are planning to upgrade our clothing and gear during the winter/spring closeout sales.

I'd appreciate hearing any stories about WY weather from mid-Sept through Oct. Our preferred units open Sept. 10, and we'd be there for the bell, but we may put in for a 3rd choice that opens later.

TIA/Don Carron
in Rockford TN where the forecast is for a 9 degree low tomorrow. Way under what we expect around here. You guys up there hold that cold !!!

Wiz,
I would bring both clothes for warm weather and for cold weather. We sometimes get hit with snowstorms in September(we have the last 2 years) and in October anything is fair game. We don't get much snow anymore, but when it snows, it SNOWS. October has been t-shirt weather though the last couple years, global warming I guess ;).

Wiz,

I pronghorn hunted in SW/SCentral Wyoming during the latter half of September 2002. It was mild during the day (80's), but colder at night (30's).

It rained off and on for a few days and was windy as well. I would concur with younghunter; be prepared for anything.

Wiz,
The only advice I can give you is....BE PREPAIRED FOR ANYTHING! The weather can change quickly. I've set up camp when it's 70 during the day and the next morning there's snow on the ground. Plan ahead and waterproof everything! It's no fun when you're soaked to the bone.
Good hunting!
