No doubt it's a very big pig. But if the guy in the picture is 200-220#, the pig just don't look 4 times bigger then him. Now if the guy in the picture is 300-400#, then the pig does look twice his size. A Rocky Mountain bull elk is supposed to weight up to 750# on average. This pig in no way looks bigger then a elk.
But either way, it's a excellent pig.

This pig in the bottom photos was claimed to weigh 450lbs. Its looks pretty similar in appearance to the 880lb. pig posted above!

Alright....I can't take it anymore, so let me be the first to call
<
I know, I should just let this die but I just can't.

Look, I've killed plenty of hogs that had domestic influence showing, like belted hogs for instance, so I'm not trying to take anything away from the pig in that aspect. If it's in the wild then I say pigs is pigs. That being said, if I ever caught a 'wild' hog that really was 900#, I would know that the thing was of full domestic lines and grew up in a pen......and I would know this because I probably would see the hog pen attached to the barn that I would be standing in.
<
I have personally seen a domestic hog in a pen that was 900 # and it looked like the 7th wonder of the world to me. It was jaw dropping huge. They had to force it to get up for 15 minutes, twice a day, or it would be too stiff to ever get up again. When it did stand, it's legs would shake from the tremendous weight. There is just no way that a 900# hog would just be roaming free for years....and that isn't a 880# hog. #2..Maybe I'm off with this one but I don't see 5 or 6 guys loading up a 900# hog either. How would they all stand close enough together and get a good grip to all lift 180# each into the truck? 3rd....That hog, even at the size it is, isn't a dog wrecker that would tear up 5 dogs. If you knew anything about running hog dogs you would know that the big fat oinkers like that get stretched faster than a 50#er, and catching 10 year old hogs are like catching a 90 year old man. And finally...and most importantly, Those are 2 completely different hogs Henry. Mud on white legs and a white belt with a white spot on the nose does not look like long black hair and no spot before the mud gets washed off. For God's sake, give us a little credit before you open up the BS gates too wide. It's not that important to impress strangers on the internet anyway. I don't know if you are getting fed a line of BS and just passing it along or not but this story isn't even close to believable.
<

You know....I wonder when it became a shameful thing to kill a 180#-250# boar hog? Why is it that everybody has to claim a 400 lb'er or bigger for it to be a 'monster' hog? They just don't get that big unless there is a lot of domestic and they are raised like a domestic. That's just the way it is. Yea, you get the occasional barr hog that will plump up if makes it to old age but even at that, 400# is HUGE and extremely rare.

It's not my intention to get in a pissing match with some of you guys over this, which I'm sure is coming, but hey, someone has to say something when things get this out of hand.

bayesolid has got it right, that porker changes color faster than a chamelion. Look at all the photos and regardless it looks more like 400-450. Take it off the truck and weigh it alone. What kind of dogs did it cut up? 200 lb beagles.

Hey but nice pig, just post it for what it is.

Now that we're sceptical I noticed this area. Some monkey business maybe or part of the white hair under the mud?

I have to agree with bayed on this one. The story seems to have the smell of a hogzilla to it...

Hey i think i noticed why the pigs stripe didnt turn out white. That wallow wasnt full of motor oil was it? I have heard it brings in hogs but thought it would classified as baiting. I know of a guide in parkfield that swears by the oil treatment but i thought it was baiting. I know that wallow in the picture looks awfully dark
