Your right Juan, We are all very busy in are "non-hunting" live's, I know I wait all year for this hunt and when it comes down to it there need's to be someone to do all the little things. So Here's to Mel for setting it all up and answering all the emails and contacting George. It may not seem like your doing any "work", But if you didn't keep this thing going we wouldn't have such a great hunt on a great piece of property.

HERE'S TO MEL!!!

Adam

P.S. I'll drink a toast to you when I'm in Vegas

Mel, have to back out. Sorry, but I have a chance to see my great grand parents for the last time, my son has only met them once. So I am on the East Coast that whole weekend. Hopefully that doesn't break the deal.

Now as for my nephew, We went out to the ranch, Parrey is an awesome guide, he's super nice and the property we hunted on was fantastic. But aside from doing a bunch of four wheelin in a rhino, and a 3 second glimpse at a monster hog not a whole lot transpired. Zach had a lot of fun cruizin around in the side by side. We really did have a good time, and it was a new experience to go on a hunting trip. I do all my hunting locally even when I shot that hog last year with you guys. So it was definitely a fun weekend but not a lot to write about. Parrey said he'd have us back, but I got really busy at work and then summer set in and the hunting aint so good when it's 100 degrees out. So now I'm knuckles deep in deer hunting, I got this big east coast trip coming up, and I'm going to miss out on this hunt. I'm trying to get Zach's sister through hunter safety before we go back to Parrey's ranch, and I want to buy a ground squirrel round up for the three of us. This place would be so much fun shooting squeeks. There must be ten thousand of them, and they are everywhere. So that's the story, I was going to wait to have something to brag about, give Parrey credit for trying (I knew there was trouble when he started getting worried 1/2 hour into the hunt. He was used to seeing tons of hogs and then that morning they were gone.) and have a good tale to tell.

But you guys will have a blast out there. George is a hell of a guy, and his operation is top notch.

Hey Mel, have a few questions. First, are we in the field all day or to we come back to camp during the afternoon and head back out in the late afternoon? Are camp fires permitted and/or bbq's? Just trying to figure out food for the trip, and cooking methods. Would like to bring out my smoker and cook some baby backs or a shoulder, but would need to get it on mid day. Generators okay?

If you want to stay out all day that's up to you, just let George know before hand. Remember, George will be taking people out and dropping them off and picking them up as well. He may let you follow in your rig if you decide to stay out all day, but typically we come back at mid day or so. There is a huge camp fire pit, but last year we didn't even use it. As long as it's not too dry he will allow fires. BBQ's are always welcome, if they are charcoal BBQ's just be careful about where you put the ashes. Generators are ok as well.

Let me know if you have anymore questions.

One thing I forget to ask everyone, is anybody archery hunting? Wont really change anything, but George will most likely put them in their own area entirely.

As it gets closer, i'll put up the address and directions on the meeting place for those who have never been there.

How about facilities ? Outhouse ? Running or potable water ? I thought I saw pig processing area in a past post . Also just trying to refine my final camp gear list.

Hey Mel, I've past by that range a few time's, so i have a good idea where it is.

Facilities...? There is an abundance of bushes, tree's, and quiet little spots that you can use to do your "business". He has a wash sink with cold water, a screened in skinning shack with a hose. Like Mel said depending on how dry it is for a fire. There is ample flat ground to put up tents and a long row of picnic tables. So it would probably be best to pack like you where going to a "Dry Campground"

Thanks Adam. I'll make sure to bring a shovel and a Sears & Roebuck catalogue.

One thing I mention every year, and George may as well. Lets all make sure we clean up the camp area through out the hunt, treat this place like it's our own. George has been extreamly impressed with the previous groups on how clean we keep the area. I don't expect this group to do any different. Pick up trash and bury your, well you know.

Much appreciated guys.

Still a ton of pigs out and about on the neighboring ranches. A few went down hard last week and the weekend before. I may even be in the vicinity filming bucks and hunting hogs at the same time depending on when I get back from Nevada.
