Mel,

The link you posted works fine here. I clicked on it , had to change date to 11/07/2011 @ 12:00 p.m. and walla. Everytime I click on it now we are closer to pigs meeting their maker.

Sweet, can't wait. Headed out of LA Thursday evening, and will hit a motel on the way.

What's the average distance of shots taken there in the past? Can't decide what rifle to bring?!?

I can't wait so excited, I hope I don't forget anything. Is there any must have items I need to bring other than my rifle, ammo, knives, bi-nos, range finder, and a big ice-chest.

Aim small miss small :)

Shots can be anywhere from 25 yards to 300 yards, but I believe most shots have been under 200 yards.

Since you and reloadyour9 are coming up together (I think) it would be a good idea to being an extra large ice chest to put your hog in (if successful), load it up with a few 20lb bags of ice. Or if you both bring a large ice chest, you could always more your stuff into one ice chest then the other for the hog. You guys have a long drive home, wouldn't want to spoil the meet.

I would bring whatever your normal hunting gear is for anything you hunt, nothing special needed.

Sweet, but Mezcan is my partner in crime. He's got a 150qt ice chest and I got my 115qt. So if I get a 300 pounder we going to have to eat some there.

Dreaming of smoking a ham and curing some bacon.

Lol, sorry, got a little confused. You should be good with the ice chests your bringing. George has a saw that we cut the hog into quarters, works good for putting them in the ice chest.

Love all these positive waves man. Cuttin' pigs up to fit in the chest. " With all these positive waves we can't go wrong" ( Donald Sutherland in " Kelly's Heroes " ).

I set a goal awhile back that I'd get a deer and a pig on public land before a camera had to take a trip up my sphincter. Well , picture day is fast approaching and i've made the concession to try private land for a piggie ! Still hope to bang a deer on public land (before picture day) , but we'll see.

So, that's why I'm so enthusiastic. Two items on the bucket list , as far as big game goes, so I hope I can check piggie off the list after lots of effort on public land to no avail.

Let's git her done !
