i used to use a trad bow in my back yard for fun. but i never hunted with a bow. Been using guns my whole life. sum for reg joe and sum only for the USMC. Depends on what we are doing or were we are doing it.
Thats cool KT, like i tell my gunner friends when they hunt with there guns, if u want it to be challenging make it a long distant shot with one eye closed.LOL.......tra
I had a second tag, and I wanted to stick around until Juan got his hog. I am glad I got to hunt the second day too. I really didn't intend on killing a pig unless it was a real beast. With one already hanging in the shed it was an easy way to commit to only shooting a trophy. Plus I was already there and paid for the first pig so I didn't have to pay any more unless I shot one so I was able to continue my hunt at no charge. Juan and I were starting to get a little disouraged until we started going off trail and wound up about 60 yards from a lone boar. I am surprised all the other guys left so early. I was looking forward to camping with everyone but I guess that spot they were in wasn't so good.
My pig took all morning, but for all the countless hours of hiking with a gun I've done, I'd take a quick and easy one any day.
I was one of the guys who got mine In the first 15 mins. I was a tiny bit bummed that my hunt was over so quick but not nearly as happy as I was to get my first pig! Had to remind myself not to get greedy and be thankful I get one.
I didnt have a second tag but spent that night and went out the next morning with Juan and Mel just to get out but ultimately took of sat afternoon and was a little excited to be home Sunday in time to BBQ some fresh tenderloins and Watch game one of the NLCS and the niners giants game on sunday.
Next year I'll definitely have that second tag though
