Well, the buck has a 7-4/8-inch right prong and is one of the heaviest bucks I've ever seen. Not sure what he's gonna finish at, but he's close to the World's Record right now.
I was just wondering why the story was so classified? No disrespect. Just curious. The antelope bug has bitten me and I even bought your video which was great by the way.
The story isn't classified, just haven't written it, yet. I'd imagine if I posted tons of pictures and stories on the net that it would devalue what a magazine might pay for it. I've never sold anything to a magazine, but I'm poor, so maybe I'll try.
Thanks for the good words about the video. If we can get in with Cabela's we'll come out with an actual hunting video and the buck named Thor will be on it.
Not sure which magazine I'll send it to, but I'll let you know when I decide.
Also, I'll let you know when the buck is officially scored and what it scores.
The video is nice... Good luck with Cabela's! My daughter and I have watched it 2x so far and she is getting the hang of field judging. We will take it with us along with some other videos to watch in camp at night. We like how you came up with the names on the bucks.
Yeah, we have to name them or else we get confused.
I'll say, "You remember that buck with the hooks?"
He'll say, "Yeah, the one with the big prongs?"
I'll say, "No, the one with the prongs that point out to the sides."
He'll say, "The one with the good top mass?"
I'll say, "Yeah, over by Blueberry Hill?"
He'll say, "But there were two over by Blueberry Hill that were shaped the same."
I'll say, "Yeah, but I'm talking about the one that ran in front of the truck."
He'll say, "Oh, that one. What about it?"
I'll say, "Nothing, just wondering if you remembered him."
We find that it's much easier to say, "You remember Sticks?"
He'll say, "Yep!"
That way there's no confusion and you can call the buck by name if you write or tell a story and make a plaque for him to hang under the mount of him and you can feed him and pet him and hug him and squeeze him and...uh...I mean, you know what I mean.
