This is our 2nd hog hunt give away with Bill and crew at Cedar Canyon Ranch near Tehachapi CA in June 2010.

Date: June 18-20 2010

The Hunt & Game: This hunt will be for one pig. :hog chewing:. These are Eurasian hogs with the long snouts on 600 acres with a fence around the ranch. No hog tags are needed for this hunt.

Lodging: There is dry camping at the ranch or you can stay in the lodge for $30 a night. You can bring your trailer or motorhome if you'd like.

Skinning will be included in the hunt. If you want the meat butchered that will be $125 and includes sausage.

Weapons allowed: You can bow hunt, pistol or rifle hunt this ranch.

Skill Level/Ranch Terrian: The ranch has flat and steep ground so you can make it as hard as your are willing. Sit and ambush or climb the hills and spot n stalk. Last year's winner Ronnie it was his first ever hunt and he shot his pig Saturday night.

To enter please tell us why you should win the hunt. Bringing the funny scores more points. If you have an ugly cousin that needs to get out that may work too. Good luck.

More info: Cedar Canyon Ranch LLC

This is the video from Ronnie's hunt last June.

I should win because my two boys always ask me why I never kill anything....My 13 yr old shot his first deer last year and told me "one more deer and I will be tied with you dad"... That was cold! I deserve to win :)

I should win this cause my wife wants me out of the house more often. If I win the pig trip, it will save me hotel fees for the weekend :bag-on-head:

Please help me!!! I am suffering from an extreme case a Veganism. I came down with the disease when I realized how wrong it is to kill innocent furry little critters. I started feeling really bad for all the steaks in the Supermarket that would no longer be with their friends once somebody took them home. Poor little guys, there they are all happy and wrapped in cellophane, enjoying the company of their peers when some thoughtless barbaric Soccer mom rips them from their natural environment in the cooler to selfishly take home and feed her children, after cooking them alive in the oven. Once I got diagnosed with Veganism I started seeing all the atrocities that man perpetrates on animals in every way. Like those poor cow hides that weren't bothering anybody as they socialized in the tannery until some nasty human came along to dunk them in burning dye, and cut them up into little shreds just to sew them back up, and for what? So that they could put them on their feet and stay warm? Where do these humans get off, what right do they have to cut up pieces of leather to make some kind of Frankenstein foot covering. What's wrong with just going barefoot?

Another horrible thing that bothers me is when animals themselves violently murder other animals. I never believed it myself, but then one day I saw it happening on TV (that's where I get ALL my information about the outdoors). I saw this poor little deer get attacked by a murderous lion who I think was a gang member or something. I couldn't believe it... how could one animal kill another? Couldn't that lion just learn to eat vegetables. I mean why does one animal have to the right to take the life of another animal. When I saw that I called the ACLU immediately, but they said unfortunately they can not represent animals...YET! Well that sent me down a further spiral as I realized that animals do not have the same legal rights as humans do. I just don't get it.

I wrote my Senators, Diane Feinstein, and Barbara Boxer.....They said they are already trying to get animals the same rights as we callous humans, and to keep fighting the good fight. That made me feel a little better but I am still awfully troubled by all this. So now I take 4 different types of antidepressants, and I go to a support group three times a week. I even tried joining PETA but they said I wasn't qualified because I told them about the fish tank in my living room. I tried telling them that it was only rescue fish I keep, and only until they are healthy enough to return to the wild but they still wouldn't let me in. So I started my own group, people for the displacement of all wild animals to make room for enough soy bean farms to feed the country. So far I have only gotten two members, but we are commited and hold a "Tofu not Chicken Rally" every month near the college I used to go to before I dropped out, maybe you've heard of it..The University of California Berkeley.

We get a lot of people honking their horns as they drive by in their Toyota Prius. It really gives us the courage to go on when they show their support like that. I have seen several specialists, but now that my health coverage through MediCal is in jeapardy I feel I have to take extreme measures to find a cure. I have contacted a fellow who leads nature hikes on the Iraq / Iran border who says he can help me. After several correspondences with him he put me in touch with a Guru who lives in America (although I won't hold his Americanism against him) This guy who for security reasons we will call "Uncle Ted" (he's a little extravagant, he has long hair and a Fu man Chu, and he speaks in a very dramatic dialect). He says that the only cure for Veganism is to immerse yourself in the spirit of the hunt. Personally I don't like the idea of it, but I am feeling so sad and malnourished I feel like my life is on the line if I don't fix it.

He told me that hunting a pig or hog would be the best and most direct way to deal with my affliction. Not having any way of locating or securing access to a hunt like this on my own, and there is no way I could pay for it (my SSI check only covers the cost of rent and to keep my organization afloat, of yeah and it buys a little medical marijuana to keep me from killing myself) so I am coming to you with dirty hat in hand asking please.....please help me cure my Veganism and send me on that hog hunt. Thank you for listening, Peace and Love, Peace and Love

By the way, I would bring along my nephew who you may remember from the last hog hunt giveaway whose father ran out and left him with no male influence. I have been trying to get him on some turkeys, so far no luck. But he is a good kid and would gain more from this experience than most others would. He just raised a ton of money for Pediatric Cancer Research, here is a link to some of that info

Thanks and good luck to the winner whoever that may be!
And also Thanks to Cedar Canyon Ranch for a great opportunity

Due to Obama, I am spending all my money and time searching for ammo. I don't have the money to buy pig tags or to climb mountains on public land. Also my sons and wife are embarrassed and concerned that I have gone pig hunting 3 times with a friend and I keep coming home empty handed. They aren't sure if I'm bad at locating pigs or going 'brokeback mountain' on them. I swear it's that I'm not good at finding pigs.

Ok, here's my stab at this. I pastor a small church up in Northern Cal. I've been here four years. I was finishing up Grad School in Texas before I came. One of the many books I had to read was called, "They Smell Like Sheep." In short it said that a good shepherd smells like his sheep because he is around them so much and likewise, a good pastor ought to do the things his people do.

When I came to Nor. Cal., even though I had never been a hunter, I took up hunting so that I could relate with the guys in my church. (about my third month at the church, one of the guys brings me an ad for a free hunter safety course--he says, "Pastor, you've got to go to this.") I gotta say that I love it! I get to know these guys more on one hunting trip that I could in a whole decade of Sundays. I'm getting pretty hooked on the hunting, too. So far I've been out for everything from dove to deer, but I would love the chance to shoot for Hog.

I'm sure that there are a lot a deserving folks that will write in for the free trip, but I'd love it to further the ministry that I am about up here. I can't really afford to go on a paid hunt, but I would sure love the chance to win this. And if you want to sweeten the deal, throw in a second free hunt and I'll bring one of the guys from my church.

I should win because I've gone on 3 semiguided hunts and have nothing to show for it :(. My coworkers laugh at me because I haven't killed anything yet and I've spent so much money on hunting pigs alone. I wanna show the tusk porn to the jackass that sits 8 feet behind me so he can finally shut up about all my hunting stories lol.

Allright, I can't compete with any of these guys. They are all more deserving than I. Especially the Padre. "Ie Dios Meo" But heres the thing straight up, I want to kill a pig so bad my junk is hard! If I don't get some bacon soon I'm not responsable for what could happen on or near public land. So please give me this hunt before this thing goes off and someone looses an eye or somthing!!!!!!!

I'll just say that I don't think I "deserve to win anything". It certainly would be nice though. I'm new to California and I think it would be an awesome experience, not to mention the cool pics I could send back to my friends in Montana.

I would love to have a chance to get on a great peice of property!!!! Expecially Cedar Canyon Ranch every review on their outfitt is always the best storys/memories for the hunters. I have had my liscense for almost two years. I try to get out on the public property and try my luck as often as possible. I always have a blast even if it was just walking for hours and not even seeing anything. Any day I can be in the woods rather than San Jose Im there. My first child is due on May 10th its gonna be a "Girl". And my fiance works every other weekend. So my hunting carrier is about to get ALLOT SLOWER than it has been already. I had saved up before i got my lisence for a fully guided hog hunt witch equaled BEST day in the woods and didnt even see a Pig. Learned allot and would love to apply it to a ranch/property that has good game on it. Just an apportunity to provide food for my family and have a chance at any of the high quality game on their ranch would be an experiance of a LIFETIME!!!!! And one that I would never forget. I have always wanted to be a hunter since I was 7 and watched a hunting show. Finally when I was old enough and could afford a firearm I got my lisence and a 30-06! Because that was the gun from the video when I was young. I have so much passion for OUR sport and make sure that I try to inform others that might be misunderstood about hunting and what we as hunters do for the environment/game species. I will definately make sure to expose my faimly to the outdoors/hunting and all it has to offer.

I could sit here and make up some sob story but I won't. There are probably a lot of deserving people but here is my story. I did 25 years in the Air Force and spent a lot of time away from family. Did Panama, Honderus, Saudi...etc and missed a lot of my littles ones life growing up. I did an assignment in Japan to avoid going on a remote assigment so I could spend some time with family and thus there was no hunting there. When I returned to the US they offered me an assignment to Alaska approx 8 months after I got back. As a young airmen I put in for Alaska every year hoping I would get an assigment however my girls didn't want to move again so I turned it down. I later received an assignemt here at Edwards Air Force Base and ended up retiring here so my daughters could stay at a school for a while since we were always moving. Here at Edwards there isn't even even any archery ranges and the hunting is scarce, thus I haven't hunted much in 7 years. I actually live about 60 minutes fron cedar canyon ranch but the cost was just a tad bit high for a retired GI. Wish me luck as wish you all luck! God Bless!
