L2H, They are not elusive just have to know the right area to hunt.
Of course most that do not have a boat hunt right out of the camp grounds
or near there or hit the day use areas where they can hike out to. But lake sonoma is loaded with pigs.

Ha! Good one pat, yes there are a good amount of pigs, like others have said, "nomadic". Some days they are on property and some days not. Just curious pat how many LS hogs have you taken? Lol. Sorry. I bet you know someone who has taken more roflol. I think whitemamba and myself, (haven't heard of anyone else) prob have the highest totals. 10 on the back of my boat. Like a fighter pilot

Having a boat allows you to cover more ground, hunt areas you can't get to by foot. Plus packing out any kills is made that much easier.

This may be a dumb question, but does anyone know what the policy is with respect to bringing an observer with you while hunting at Lake Sonoma? I'm licensed and registered for this season and have a friend who asked to come along to watch. He doesn't have a hunting license (and won't be able to get one before our trip). He isn't going to have (or handle) any weapon and, on the off chance I get a boar, won't be field dressing or hauling it out. Can he still come? Can he wear camo? Will that constitute "pursuing" game under DFW regulations? And, lastly, does he need to register? Any thoughts and advice appreciated.

It's a public park u can bring the the whole family with u to help guide, scout, observe, take photos and help u haul it out if u score and BBQ it, but anyone actually hunting has to be registered with the park.....tra

Cool video jerry, thanks x2 for sharing, GOD I miss that place. Like he said, it's like checking a trap line.

Great video!
Based on your video and the attached news article, you would think that hunters are practically stepping on hogs the minute you get out of their cars!
Anyone who has hunted this park knows the truth about how tough it is to get a public land pig. Congratulations.
I’m still waiting for the rain, hopefully it will make things a little quieter out in the field and get all of the heavy equipment guys off their job sites and back in the park.
I talked with Bsanders the other day and want to caution you all to watch where you pee if you are hunting on the weekends. It’s easy to confuse your fellow hunter in real tree with an oak tree. :rotflmao:

Is there another way to get ahold of rachel I sent my stuff in and can't get ahold of anyone to get my hunter number to put on pass. Am supposed to leave in a few hours to head to the lake. But looks as if it might be canceled if I can't get ahold of anyone. Is the visitor center still closed. Are they doing insight reg on Saturdays like it states dnt want to waste a 6 hour round trip
