I'm looking at getting my antelope mounted but I'm undecided on pose, etc...

Can you please post a picture of your Antelope?

Do you wish you would have done something differently?

Thanks for your help!!

I received the Van Dykes Catalog the other day and it has one of the best and most unusual mounts I have ever seen. It’s a half body pedestal mount. I think the Antelope is the prefect North American animal to do it in and I can’t wait to shoot one big enough to get it done.

I got the same catalog and love that half body mount. My thought were the same as your's, can't wait to get another big goat.

This is my 07 Wyoming archery buck. Simple mount but very practical for my house, no regrets.

Mine are nothing real special, but it did come with some planning after the first one which is on the left. I had the first one mounted looking right. After that, I decided to do the second one straight and my son's left so I could put them all together.

I'm going with the standard shoulder mount with a slight turn. I do like the pedestal type but they take up floor space that I don't have. I'm going with a taxidermist that was recommended for his work at a reasonable price. He had 4 different antelope (plus other critters) on his wall to look at his work. We discussed in length what I was looking for for a final product... such as the thick neck, mane, ears, etc...

I've dealt with three different taxidermist in the past. All three have one thing in common... I explain to them what I want, but I get it back the way they want to do it. I grabbed a frame from my video and had a photograph printed out. I told him this is what I want and gave him the photo. I'm hopefully optimistic on what I'll get back.

I got the Antelope back. Basic pose I guess. All in all, not bad.

It was $375. I checked a couple of other places... one was over $500.
