Q2,
For good rifle hunts in Oregon a guy needs 7-10 points to get drawn in most cases. It may be different for archery? I don't know.
I hear the south central portion holds the biggest bucks and that's where I will look in a few years.
BTW, Idaho has OTC antelope archery tags for quite a few units, if that interests you. Good luck.
I live in Prineville and have seen antelope in some of the least likely places. The Jordan Valley recommendation is good. There are a couple of herds that move around Riley. The largest buck antelope I ever saw was IN Sisters, Oregon. Standing in a yard eating flowers!
If you can get permission to hunt, there are plenty of almost tame ones in the Paulina area. I have jumped many up in the Ochoco National Forest which surprised the hell out of me the first time. The main thing is to get a tag and then spend many weekends scouting. Map out the water holes and note where there are openings in fences. Antelope generally will NOT jump a fence and cross only through openings. This could be an important trait if you are bow hunting. Don't crowd the water holes - not too ethical. Have fun and post a photo if you are successful. I had to wait last week for 120 of them to cross the Millican Highway.
