After almost 60 days in Canada hunting waterfowl I am back just in time for the dove season second opener.... I already know that the ducks here in CA are few and far between.... Probably won't get good here until Christmas time....

Have to download lots of pics and will post some for all to see..

Hope everyone has been safe and healthy...

Looks like a fantastic trip, you got a freezer big enough for all that goose?

Joe is turning out to be a great hunting dog.... Joe turned two in October and probably had 800 plus retrieves in the two months we were there...

No on the freezer all meat was gifted to the local Indian tribe while I was there... Interesting enough they utilize the meat for "ceremonies" when someone dies or gets married etc...

Going back next year again can't wait....

That's awesome man! Sorry to thread jack but how would you recommend going about getting and training a good lab for waterfowl.

I don't even hunt waterfowl yet but it's on the list and I want my next dog to be a working dog.

I just had to put my chocolate lab down. His name was Stone and he was a great family dog with an awesome personality but I just couldn't break him of his hard mouth. He'd do great with buoys but any bird that got near his mouth was instantly crushed and swallowed whole including house sparrows, dove and quail. He'd even go around and eat up all the feathers that would get scattered around after a dove would get shot. I shouldn't have been surprised when he killed 5 of my chickens!

That's one bad beat down of waterfowl! I'm so jealous, maybe one day I'll get blessed with a hunt like that for me. I know you had a great time!

I go every year for 60 days and that is only a portion of what was actually shot... I have a few open spots this upcoming year where you will see more waterfowl in 3 days then all year long in CA...

PM Me for details and if you wanna hunt Canada...

Wow. That's like the guys that go south of the boarder for dove. You see hundreds of birds in a pile. A few green patriots also. Lol. Nice work brother. Keep after them.

Well I'm glad to hear that Jesse put you in your place regarding that issue. But is he aware that you have described yourself here on this forum as a trool. And that you go above and beyond that description in a prolific manner, constantly breaking the forum posting rules.

Bubble FYI Jesse did not put me in my place he gave me permission to go ahead and do what I did as far as being a troll an breaking the rules you know just about everybody on this form has called somebody a name at one time or another and has broken the rules yourself included so please don't point the finger at me because you don't like me or you don't like my posts it is what it is and if we're going to talk about breaking the rules than everybody on this forum pretty much has broken the rules at one time or another so therefore worry about yourself, Monica and others or maybe just worry about yourself have a great day Bubble
