Hope someone can help me out. I have the cabelas cart with the solid wheels. Well the solid rubber wheels have fallen apart and need to be replaced. The rims don't have a lip for a regular bike tire. I know I can order the kit at cabelas and just replace my wheels but that is $50. I would like to go to a air tire for a smoother ride and I know the wheels on many garden carts are the sme. BUT were in the world can one find just the wheels. Have had no luck in serching. I'm sure someone out here has made there own cart and bought wheels.

Sugestions very apreciated.

Don't know for sure but maybe a bicycle shop could help you out?

The reason a lot of us use the solid tires is because of the thorns on all of the bushes around the dikes. Those acacia bushes at Salton sea will do a real nice number on all this work your doing to replace the solid tires. Up at mendota last weekend I don't know what they were but they were sticking at least a 1/4inch into the solid tires of carts. I know its a lot of money but its money well spent. Nothing worse then getting all the way out to the blind and finding out you have a flat tire and your gonna have to drag that cart all the way back to the truck. Not to mention if you use it for deer hunting. That weight puts a lot of strain on those tires plus the rocks and sticks jabbing the tires. Its your decision I'm just trying to offer a little help. Harbor Freight and Northern Tool and Equipment are two catalogs that may have the wheels you want. Also a bike shop may sell solid tires.

I use tire liners and Slime in my duck cart tires. I get "goat heads" or "texas tacks".

How old are the tires?

I bought my cart and the first year, the tires started to tear away after a long walk out on a gravel road....it was the first year I had it. I called Cabelas and complained and they sent me 2 new tires.

But, not sure how old your cart and tires are... fyi

My brother bought an airless tire that looks and rides just like a bicycle tire with air in it. They are awesome but I'm not sure if they would be too big for those Cabela's carts.

BE THE BUSH...speak up and let this guy know where you bought them.

Thanks for the sugestions. The reason I want to swith is if I go and get the cabelas tires that are not solid they will just colapse again and then I'm out another $50. I have had my cart for about 5 years and i'm sure the tires would last a few years. However I just think there has to be a better way. The solid bike tires are great I just can't find them on a wheel that will attach to the cart. I have some time before I really get serious with the cart so I'll keep looking.

How the heck are you guys tearing up these tires? I have had my Cabela's cart for at least 5 years to which it has been through hell and back and I haven't had any problems with them. The effin cart even flew out the back of pickup( I always drive 85 down a rural street by my house to see if anything will fly out before I get on the hwy and one day it did) when I was going at least 70 mph and the tires still stayed on. I had to spend an hour or so with a torch on the cart after that, the frame now looks like twisted pile of dog crap and the wheels still wobble and swerve like Ted Kennedy driving down the street, but I have had no problems to date with the tires.

but after this post my tires will inevitably fall off, just watch
