I’m going on my first hunt this Sunday. I’m going for wild pig. I have no idea where to go or where to park. I called cdfw and Carrizo and told me temblor range is where I could go and hunt. Any tips on where to park and which direction to go would be greatly appreciated

Park in the hills and look under oaks.

Have any luck? We headed out there to camp for the weekend on Friday afternoon. Roads were much slicker than I anticipated. We ended camping near the end of the asphalt road on the 166 side.

No luck man. A lot of people were shooting out there and riding dirt bikes around. I was at the bottom of temblor range. Def didn’t go in deep enough

We heard a lot of shooting that weekend... pisses me off that people don't cooperate with the rules. Same with the green stickers out there.

How do you get access to temblor range?

Took some gnarly dirt roads after the 166 since the 33 was closed when I was going up

Which side of the Temblor range to you go on? I drove along the elkhorn ridge side and it look really barren. No oak trees or water to look for pigs around.

To clear up some confusion above, some people are mixing up the Carrizo Plains National MONUMENT with the Carrizo Plains ECOLOGICAL RESERVE.

The Monument is open to hunting year round and is managed by the BLM.

The Reserve is a smaller area located within the Monument and has special hunting rules. It is managed by CDFW.
