I have only heard bad news about the 2014 season. Everyone Is saying not many chicks hatched only hold overs from last year. I live in southern California. Anybody have any suggestions? My brother and I are thinking of going out by the 14 fwy In Mojave or out by Barstow.

A lot of people are just not hunting So. Cal. this year, too devastating on the remaining bird population. I may just hunt Nevada, Arizona or the Northern California where they've had a little more moisture. I'll wait to see what's out there opening day.

My area was packed with quail before the opener then opening day only saw one covey. It's like they knew we where coming.
