Coyotes thriving in Golden Gate Park

If you have seen a coyote in San Francisco, the question might cross your mind: What are they eating? You think you better keep your dog on a leash? Your cat inside? In the past five years, coyotes have established colonies in many open space and parks in San Francisco. In the past two weeks, field scout and wildlife photographer David Cruz verified coyote pups born in Golden Gate Park. His research shows the new families are thriving, and how well fed and healthy the animals appear. The first coyote reported in San Francisco arrived nine years ago from the Marin Headlands.
