Heading back up to D7 for round 2 this next week. I have been hunting around 9500-10,000 feet and didn't see much sign or deer at all. I'm curious if I am too high for this time in October? I saw on an older thread on here from 2014 that a guy had more success around 7500 in early October. Any thoughts? Anyone seeing more sign at different elevations?

Thanks for the help....we got a few weeks left!

It depends how much snow there is. Deer will stay high for as long as they can get good feed.

I was at between 8-9k and there were guys getting deer in the area. A lot of the higher bowls look to be turning real brown. Not sure how much that's affecting deer movement, but the lower creeks and meadows have more greenery.

Taking the wife up to our honey hole at about 7600' tonight and staying till Tuesday, Ill let you know the outcome. I have several different spots and different elevations that are going to be possible depending on the amount of foot traffic.
