I have been contemplating setting a decoy up near a waterhole that I plan to hunt over.  I was wondering if anyone out there has ever tried to integrate the two methods together, and if so was it successful or not?  Should one only use a decoy when stalking?  All responses are appreciated. -CB-

i dont think it would hurt.. what i see it doing is making a antelope feel more safe coming into a waterhole rather than attracting a antelope in.  if you see one shy away though i would put it away.
also if it is a rifle hunt i dont think it would be any disadvantage at all.. archery not so sure.

Although I've never done it myself, last weekend I watched a hunting show on TV in which a bowhunter used a decoy at a water hole.  Sure enough a buck antelope came right in to the watering hole and the hunter was able to take it.  He commented that the decoy gave the buck confidence that everthing was OK and that the hole was a safe place to be.  I don't know if it did or not, but it sure didn't hurt - he arrowed the buck as it drank.  It may have been "Bushnell's Secrets of the Hunt," but I'm not sure.
