i got my first anetlope Sunday. (pictures of him to follow)

i had no way to take my picture with him as i was alone. i scored him today unofficially it scored 86 i was not even looking for more than a tag fill.

pictures of him will follow when i get the camera developed. (had to buy a disposible)

i was hunting in area 011 in Nevada. he was about 250 to 300 yards out when i shot him (FYI if you hunt in the desert don't go alone or have a way to haul out your kill with minimal dragging about killed me to drag him that far in the brush). took 1 hour to drag him to the nearest road to pick him up to dress him out.

more to follow when i get the pictures developed. and i am going to mount the horns only the wife does not like seeing the heads hanging up. lol

Rick.

that's was right and left even might be a minor error to the bigger on either side........will no for sure in 60 days for official mesure is done.

that is rounded down not up to try to keep error's down on low side.

this was not a trophey hunt i was only filling my tag.

as i have stated this is my first antelope draw and hunt. i drew area 011 (nevada northwest corner). i tried to get up to look and scout the area but never had the chance went opening day for a 9 hour hunt saw enough desert and no antelope. came home scouted online with satelite maps and a topo map at work decided to go on fort bidwell road saw a buck in the filed no hunting (of coarse) then talked to to guys scouting deer they said look up the road they saw alot. so i go look and missed a chance to shoot one on side of the road. (driving to fast) bounced around all afternoon found i needed ice so i drove 50 miles to get ice and call and check in with my wife as i was going to camp 50 miles out and not be near cell service. on my way back to the area i glassed a hill near the area of the buck i missed a shot at for driving to fast (drove slower this time) saw 3 walking along found the buck got out of the truck with him looking right at me saw the one thing i needed to see horns over the ears, used the corner of the truck for a steading point and fired at his chest (250-300 yards out) hit him in the right shoulder he rared up like a horse and ran twards the right full speed i thought on sh#t i have to chace. as i was walking out i noticed the does stayed in place only moving alittle way up th ehill as i got closer then they ran i figured he was close there and he was broken leg and 50 yards closer to the truck. well i tried to drag him out with a drag harness (a joke the rope broke in 2 feet) so i went to the truck put up the gun and glasses. got a drink of water and went back to drag him i think i went about 50 yards but i was still way off from the truck and i realized that i needed to have had a better lunch. after gutting him there i pulled him to the road (2 trips to the truck for gatoraid and water later) it was an hour from kill to drag him to the road cleaned him up as best i could and skinned him and bagged him in about 2 1/2 hours. i was on the road home at dark about 8 pm shot was fired at about 5:15 pm.

i never cared about the size or records or anything i just messured for fun since i found 13 inch horns. if it messures smaller or not they will get mounted as i planned all along on a plaque with just the horns. just for my garage wall i know i need an 88 or better for a nevada record cause i looked but it was and always will be about filling my tags. (he score is a nice thing to toss at the great hunter at work) you know the guy that never misses to fill a tag but never shows pictures either.

i love the thrill of the hunt and was never happier than when i saw him down.

Rick

ps. i will tell anyone that wants to know where i found them in area 011 and in 5 years when i can draw again i'll put in for it again.
