So I have always hunted upland birds, and am now going to start getting into hunting waterfowl. I put in for all the Saturdays at Los Banos and we'll see what happens. If anyone who is experienced with duck hunting would like to join me as my guest on a hunt if I get drawn, I would be grateful for the company and chance to learn something new. After talking to DFG about Los Banos, I would probably want to do the free roam duck hunting rather than taking a blind, so then I can load up and go after some pheasant in the later morning.

Just thought I'd throw that out there. Don't mind going on my own, just usually more fun with a couple people.

The DFG is correct. Most refuges that have free roam usually hunt better in those area's then the blinds. There are exceptiong obviously. I haven't hunted los banos in a long time but if you get drawn and don't have anyone I might be interested ! I have a duck boat, dog and deeks ! I am a very experienced waterfowler ! :) Good Luck

Hey MJ, right on, yeah the lady said if you want to pheasant hunt after you're done duck hunting, then you can't take a blind in the morning, so if its after the pheasant opener then I'll probably do free roam. I have a four month old Brittany I'm training and she's doing very well on planted quail shot over her and hasn't missed a retrieve yet. She loves water, but we haven't tried any water retrieves yet so who knows how she'll do. I'll definitely pm you if I get drawn, it would be nice to learn some skills from someone with experience.
