Does anyone know anything about this buck? I found this pic on another message board (Bowsite) and thought I'd repost it here for everyone to see. There hasn't been any info on the buck yet, but it looks to be well over 90.
Found out on the other board that this picture is a fake. The hunter computer enhanced the horns. The buck was right around B&C when he killed it. Crazy.
Tony, I am not surprised. I would bet something that big would have been splashed all over if it was the truth. I was talking with Bob Kine of apache junction this past week. He has a client he took out tuesday trying for a monster. There was some good words said about you in Duwane Adams Elk camp last week when I was there. Good luck/skill this year............Allen
I was e-mailed another picture of the buck, but this one is a lot clearer. It looks real to me. If this is a fake the person that did it did a wonderful job. I know because I've tried to manipulate photographs like they do with the Kings calendars and it's not easy.
In the hands of a good graphics person any pic can be faked and it's really tough to tell.
Did they say why they faked the pic? A joke on a buddy maybe? I did one a couple years ago when a buddy didn't show at a whitetail hunt. We took the group hunt pic and had 1 guy hold his hands out like he had a huge set of antlers. I got home and dubbed in a whopper buck and sent the absent buddy the pic. He bought it too.
Something about those horns just doesn't look right compared to the body? I blew the pic up in Photoshop and there is some smudging under the logo on the left shirt pocket. The right horn tip looks funky too, like the person didn't clean it up well enough around the guy's neck in the background.
You're probably right. It just doesn't feel right. Oh well. If it is real we'll find out sooner or later because nothing that size could possibly stay quiet for too long. And also...19.5 + 5.5 = 25; and 15 + 8 = 23; 25 + 23 = 48 * 2 = 96+...and with the drought in N.M. actually affecting horn growth this year I doubt anything like that would result. Oh well.
Though I'm not Tony Grimmett...I'm as close as they come. Literally. Thanks for the kind words about my dad. What unit was Bob Kine and his hunter hunting? Oh no, my anonymity has been lost. Like I said in the other post...oh well. I love this board.
I dont remember, but will ask Duwane. Bob was up for a couple days at the Elk camp in unit 1. He was scouting a bit for the sheep tag holder and hunted one day with Duwanes client for Elk. I spoke with Duwane this morning, and one hunter missed a 390 bull twice. The hunters all had a great time and except for quite a few misses, they got a good introduction into Elk in AZ. p.s. overlook my post to you on Monster Muleys, I just posted it about 20 minutes ago and had not looked here on Jesse's yet. I will find out where Bob is hunting, somehow I think it is 18A but cant for the life of me remember..........Allen
I was in 18A this year for a bit. Saw some nice bucks, but nothing monstrous. Maybe I missed one. I hate missing one. It happens I guess. We did see one that was close to 18 inches, but with little else.
