I got a free copy. Is it worth the $100 a year subscription? I like it from what is see in this issue but forking out a "C" note for a magazine is tough. Anyone get this magazine?
I am not a subscriber but I have seen 10 or 12 issues of this magazine. It does have some good hunting stories written by hunters and pics of some great trophy animals. The magazine provides a lot of information for drawing areas, odds of drawing, landowner tags and outfitter and guide references by real hunters not staff writers.
Huntin Fool is a specialty magazine for serious hunters looking for reputable outfitters, quality areas and trophy animals.
Your $100 entitles you to more than a magazine. I'm a charter member and am a die hard fan of this publication and membership service. When paying the annual $100 fee this entiles you to membership in a club - allows you to get one on one service for your specific hunting needs and interests, a monthly publication and access to a wealth of information that is otherwise nearly impossible to get a hold of if one guy were to do all his own research - like most of you I don't have time to do all that for myself. Garth and Jason are expert consultants and have been absolutely essential in helping me tag some monsters and hunt in areas that I wouldn't have even considered otherwise. Call them for your free publication and you'll wish you would have forked over that $100 a whole lot sooner.
I would have to agree with elkcrazy. I called Garth today for some info on an antelope hunt I have been trying to put together. I have gotten a lot of info on tag's I have drawn in the past from other members who have drawn that tag. That is valuable information in my book. I have known Garth's brother for over 20 years and he was the one that got me started in Hunter Services afew years ago and I think it's worth my money.
I live in NM. When I first read one of the newsletters, I was quite amazed at the facts presented and their relative accuracy. I was wondering who was giving out the family details to the gossip queen. However, I would note that things change quickly and that going to the state experts for up to the second details is critical to get the most out of your hard earned dollar.
I ordered the subscription and will be waiting each month for the copy with baited breath.... The subscription came with a nice print, suitable for framing. I have never forked out $100 for a yearly magazine subscription though. The true test will be if I like it enough to renew next year.
As I posted in the Mule deer section. Jason Carter was very helpful when I called him this past summer with some questions.
But $100 is still $100 when my wife quit working last spring and is going to CSUS.
Well worth it if you apply for alot of out of state tags. Garth and his son Jason are also fairly accesible for advice on tags in different states.
If you dont apply out of state it would not be for you.
I like the three issues I have received so far. I would recommed it. I will just have to see where I am with the cash next year for the dispensing of the c-note.
