I plan on coming pres day weekend. It will be my first time. I have a couple questions. Are bicycles any good there. Are there places I can ride. Do you need 4 wheel drive? And I see there is a while you wait process fee due to me not having a permit fee can I get it when I get there early in the morning or do I have to wait till later in the morning? Thank you.

scottmarine, you can ride bicycles in all the walk in areas, good way to cover more ground and haul out a pig if you're set up with a small trailer or saddle bags to put the meat. Depending on what areas are open and how recent the rain is depends on if you need 4x4. There are a handful of areas that have hard pack you can hunt off if it gets muddy.

I might be able to make it out too, I got the confirmation for my permit yesterday. If I can reschedule some work stuff I'll be there, I've never been sounds fun.

Does anyone know if I can carry my 9mm as sidearm while hunting over there (of course solid cooper hollow point bullets are required)? also, how about parking? Do I have to park in the designed parks and walking into the hunt area, or can I just park on the side of the road? Oh, how can i pay for the campground? do they take cash or I still have to pay by money order?

I believe i read somewere that hand guns have to have a barrell length of no less the 6 inches. I could be wrong, so hopefully someone will confirm this for sure.
