Just got back home. I was in 25 for 2 days and didn't see anything. No, there wasn't rain at all, so the roads was very firm. I've hear some stories about the roads over there when it rains; man! next time, I will bring 4 pieces of wood to stick under neat my tires so that my van won't shrink down. I stopped by Wtpops camp before going home, but he hasn't back yet. I also looked for saravonshep's red jeep, but I couldn't find him

Well 13 E was worse, dry as a bone and no sign to speak of, I was back in camp at 8 am this mourning. Got packed up.

I think I'm going to kick my self in the butt though. Just as I was pulling out the guy at the check station stoped me and asked if I was a bowhunter, I said yes, he asked if I would like to go into 22, i was tired and could not bring my self to drop my fifth wheel.

wtpops, thx for the report. this is a good reminder for us to bring all our gears when hitting FHL. as jesse mentioned, you might be surprised when you ask for areas open late in the weekends.

Area 22 is like hitting the lottery when it comes to pigs but I don't blame you. I wouldn't want to drop the 5th wheel and get all geared up. maybe next time.

Oh boy!!.......wtpops, you really didn't have to drop the 5th wheel. If I were you, I could have just hopped on the bike and paddle on down river road.

It was great running into you and your wife on the road.

yeap! maybe next time; I arrived late anyway (5:30am on Saturday) I was in 25 too, but I didn't see anything accept for some fresh tracks, and even though I followed the tracks for almost 2 miles, I still couldn't find the pig. Oh, also, I had talked to the game wardens on Saturday evening before I headed back to the campground and they actually confirmed that at that time, 3 pigs were taken by shotgun in 29

It was an alright weekend; would have been nice to see one! Thanks saravonshep it was nice having people to talk to back at camp. I hope you guys have better luck next time! I seen a whole lot of fresh rooting, the ground was broken and wet; verses being broke and dry which I seen in most areas with the lack of rain. I sat on it for a while and heard some noises I was not used to hearing but did not get to see any pigs. Did lots of hiking, sitting, reading and almost no sleeping for most the weekend. It just takes time and research. Have to learn how to find them.

The only place Ive seen pigs is along Corral Hallow RD across from Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area on Private Property on my drive home from work!

That's very interesting. The area you descride, is it the Explosive Test Site? There are a good number of hogs on that property. There are also a number of road kills and they
seem to be at most of the creek crossings . There is a small section of DFG land bewteen the Fireworks/Explosive Company and the Lawrence Livermore Site, but it is posted
Keep Out.

land4cat, yeap thats the area! Also seen a bunch of them on the hill side acrros the gorge/rivine on privite property before the Explosive Test Site coming from Livermore. Man I'd really like a chance to get in there. I also drive Paterson Pass thourgh the Wind Mills but have not seen any in there; but think one might get close to this area if they could get access to that land.

Hey all, thanks for the information, I'll be up in FHL friday; Based on this thread I think I will head into 29 with a shotgun, assuming it's open.

LongCaribine,
you mentioned that 22 is good for pig, is that because it's usually "OFF LIMITS"?

this will be my first hunt in FHL, I'll post as soon as I get back to keep everyone up to date...

Thanks, Manley.
