What's wierd though is what I really want more than anything is a local deer, even a doe. Sounds strange but I have hunted harder for local deer than the few other "trophies" I have taken. Getting one will be a sweet reward.

Well, well well.........congratulations DWP!!! Glad to hear you boinked a deer this weekend. My weekend didn't go quite as well up in the Frazier Park area. Went after that buck that I missed a couple weeks ago and he just plain decided not to show up for the party this weekend....

P.S. Quail hunting up there is NOT what it was last year. In all my hiking Friday and Saturday, I flushed a total of 5 quail, all singles, no coveys and no mountains. Drier than a popcorn fart up there, gotta find where the water is......
