Hi everyone!

I guess I need to catch everyone up on things here in Modoc. I haven't seen many bucks this year - other than the 1 horned - forked horn buck that I almost hit coming back from Reno Wednesday! My husband has seen a few small bucks, but nothing bigger than Bambi! Him and his Dad are doiung Land owner tags this year - at least they get to hunt!

House plans have changed dramatically! We tossed the building plans and are putting in a manufactured home! It definately wasn't our first choice, but apparently Modoc is the most expensive county in California to build in! We're happy with our choice, and hopefully the home will be what we want it to be. If things go as planned, we should be able to move in the middle of September!

I just read the posts about Likely Tables, but no has stated how their season was.
My friend and I tagged out on opening weekend. Did anybody see or kill any monster antelope? Sure is a difficult area to hunt without help, nothing like Wyoming!! I sure would like to see some pictures, I'll post mine once I figure out how to do it. (it might be a while)

Hey 1big hoghunter.
I tried for X3B this year but didn't draw, I plan to keep on going till I do. I drew a few years back and hunted up at Bidwill mountain, hows that area look now, we seen a couple of bucks but were small. Just curious if it's still worth trying for this area, or should I start praying for another X5B tag.

Thanks!

X3b is always a good area to go,you just have to do your scouting.I got a 22 inch 3 point last year in X3b with my bow.I really wanted tags this year as i was seeing more big bucks than i have in a few years. There was a 24 inch forked horn which got hit by a couple on a motorcycle. So just be persistent and you'll draw.Till then good luck hunting in your other zones.

I hunted X3b a couple of years ago. It was good, I saw lots of deer mostly does and small bucks. I always hunted up around the dismal swap. I haven't been up that way deer hunting in years. Whats the deer population look like up there these days?

I used to go Goose hunting there until my buddies had 2 bad hunts in a row. If you know any good goose guide up there let me know I would love to go back up that way again.

I have no idea what the guys name was my friend had hunted with him a few times before, so he set it up. One of the guys that guided us owned a place where the plucked and packaged the birds. How are the deer doing up there ? Are you seeing many big bucks?

I hope I attached the picture of my antelope. If not I'll try again.
I'd like to see some others from Likely Tables from this past season

Hi All,

I got this buck last year (2002) in the Likley Tables zone. I saw 75 antelope , 17 Legal bucks in two and a half days. I scouted Baily res on Friday and spotted a good buck and a dink. I hunted opening day in the Davis Creek area and spotted many fair bucks
, but I found this one up on the garden on public land. I had hoped for a 15" or better, but I was a little more than an inch short of my goal. I wish I had a good spotting scope and range finder. Still it's a pretty good buck for peroid two. I watched 4 bucks competing for a bunch of does for a couple of hours. What a sight ... Wish I had a video camera with a big zoom lens too.
