Loch Lomond to close Thursday to honor fallen officers

Loch Lomond Recreation Area will be closed Thursday, March 7, in remembrance of the two fallen Santa Cruz police officers killed last week in a gun battle. The park will reopen to the public on Friday morning. Loch Lomond is a gorgeous lake and recreation area. It is located set in a forested canyon in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The lake opened for the season last week. It provides outstanding hiking, boat rentals, and good fishing for bass, bluegill and trout.###It is stocked with rainbow trout.
