Hey guys, I am new to this forum and I was reading through the posts and I drew for the Nov hunt on the Stallion Range. Anyone been there? Any good advice? I am thinking about taking my .300 WSM or my .308 . That should be plenty of gun shouldn't it?

I went through the same questions and from what I got the bigger the better but knowing where to hit them is just as important.I have a pic showing vitals or there is one on monstermulies

I received one of the information letters today from WSMR,it does say that you will receive payment info at a later date but it is in the same packet.I received my daughters info for her august hunt. All payments must be postmarked by July 31st.Can't wait just wish i didn't have to drive out there 2 weeks in a row but that could be better than trying to get both in 2 days.Oh well gotta do what you gotta do.

Am I understanding it right that we have to purchase a habitat permit besides the permit and WSMR fee?

I called F&G and I do have to buy a 4.00 stamp but you can't get them online and have to get them at a vendor or their office

I have been in WY for a week so I just got back,Really not a long story.Arrived early at gate and went through meeting, started at the south end and saw my bull from road made a short stalk to get shot, bull ran finally offered a quartering away and I actually made a perfect hit.Picked up blood as he had gone over ridge out of sight.Bull went about 100 yards and I almost stepped on a dozing rattler while walking back to the truck.Saw several other on way to gate including a huge cow.RC is so different than SR where my daughter hunted the weekend before.Chris at Compass West took us on that hunt and it really helped me alot doing the RC hunt on my own.Used a deer cart to get him out

Great hearing from you Habitat, sounds like it was a fun hunt, deer cart sounds like a good idea. I am looking forward to the hunt in Oct.

I have my hunt coming in December - 13/14th (Rhodes Canyon). I know I will have a spot open on my hunt if any of you seasoned veterans wish to come along and help me get a good one. I have my 30-378 sighted in and ready to 650 yards.

Have spotting scope, rangefinder, binocs, deer cart, coolers all ready and waiting to go. I expect we will be coming up Thursday sometime to get acquainted with the drive and be ready come Saturday AM.

We are coming from Austin, Texas and my buddy will be hunting in late January if I recall correctly.

Let me know if anyone is interested in coming along or wishes to add any advice....

Sagebrush - I lost the e-mail you sent me and your e-mail address. I had a hard drive failure and it took out my whole mail archive. If you can please e-mail me again as I was hoping you could re-send me your last e-mail which included some tips for my upcoming hunt....

My e-mail is: sprather@sbcglobal.net

Thanks in advance,
Shane
