As 900 fire fighters battled the Salmon River Complex Fire Tuesday in California’s north state, the U.S. Forest Service and Siskiyou County Sheriffs Department shut down several campgrounds, roads to trailheads, a river canyon and a vast tract of land to public access. The blaze flamed 90 percent out of ###control. The fire is believed to have started last Wednesday night at Sawyers Bar along the north side of the Salmon River, reported Ken Sandusky of the Forest Service.
