Heading out with the ol' man to see if we can't get him a good buck antelope this weekend. He got 1 of 7 tags for the 32, 34-35 area so I get to play guide on this trip. We've killed bucks in the high 70's, but never managed to hit that 80 mark so that's our goal going into the game, but play calling may open up a bit late in the 4th quarter if there's no score on the board though...

My best friend's dad is hunting in Nevada as I write this. Hopefully, I can post a picture for him when he gets back.

I'll give details and hopefully some pics tomorrow, but we hunted Area 35 really hard and found a nice 15" buck that pops shot on Sunday. We had watched him since Friday hoping to maybe find a bigger one and since he was in a spot that most hunters wouldn't look we felt confident we could go back to him which is just what we did. More details to follow...got to finish putting the gear away...

We saw a total of maybe 15 antelope on public ground and 2 of those were shooter bucks. We spotted our buck on Friday coming out of a steep ravine and figured we keep an eye on him come Saturday. On Saturday we spotted him about 400 yards away on the next ridge. He knew somebody was watching him, but since we were in a pile of rocks in full camo he couldn't figure us out and we waited until he got out of site before we left. After looking around and seeing NOTHING except a gut bag where we planned an ambush on the second buck spotted as he made his daily trip to the alfalfa fields and some new hunters moving into the area we decided Sunday morning we'd go look for him. Sunday morning we got into the area and spotted him almost exactly on the rock pile from where we sat watching him on Saturday. He saw us and took his small herd over the ridge. Knowing he saw us we decided to sneak below him since he'd be expecting us from the top. After a sneak we spotted him 225yds away looking over his shoulder every so often to see if we were following him. As pops was getting his rickety bones in place to make the shot he spotted us and that was the last site he got to see as my old man put a Nosler PT from his .257 Ackley just above his front shoulder. The result was a respectable 15" buck...

Side note...the chukar were like locust all over that area!

The antelope was a 13 incher. I don't know what zone he was in. He saw a lot of good deer, but this was the only antelope buck he saw.
