Greetings all,
I have an Oryx hunt coming up next month on McGregor range and have a question concerning
the hide. I am considering having it tanned, if this is possible. Thought it might make a pretty
rug. Anyone ever do this?? Of course I gotta get one first

Well the head was a given, just wanting to do something with the hide as well.

You'll need most of the hide for a shoulder mount. At least half of it. You could have the back skin tanned but it's not going to be a big rug. You might be able to have a belt or wallet or something made from it though. Yes, you can have it tanned and your taxidermist should be able to help you get that done.

My hide is at the taxi now getting done with the tail attached. Should turn out nice. I left my with Joel at www.edwardstaxidermy.com

Joel is very helpful and you might give him a call if you are considering this.
