Hey "Track", how's it been goin'?
How much Open Ground you talkin' about? May make a difference in usin' a "Head Down" or "Head Up" deke! I know a coupla' fellas near my property in Seligman,AZ that use dekes with a fair rate o' success...but all that land is Pinyon, Juniper and Cedar, so most of yer shots are 20-30 yds., if they don't get wind o' ya! Not sure about manufacturer or price, but I could do a little phonin' and find out for ya'...when and where ya'll goin'? Joe goin' on this little foray with ya'? Give me a note back when ya' have a minute! Hope the girls are all well !
I drew 19b in Arizona. I'll probably head over there early September. It's gonna be a scorcher. Those goats are out in the wide open. I need to find me some water. If I don't, I'm gonna be hidin' behind a decoy, doin' my best to lure a horny 'ole lope into range. Bucky didn't draw. I told him to put in. But, he's a stubborn old coot. I'm takin' my dad. He can drive the truck around with the AC on, while I crawl around like a sidewinder, spittin dust, and sweatin' bullets. It's all good!
Hey "Track",
Good ta' hear from ya' Ol' son...glad you and yore Dad are gettin' out amongst them weeds together...if'n yer gonna have him ridin' point fer ya' whilst ya'll are doin' the belly crawl, countin' scorpions ...he'll probably push somthin', right into yer' kitchen, with a little luck o' course! But yore a pretty savvy Desert Rat yer' ownself and I figure the way I know you work it in the field...you got a better'n average shot at puttin' somthin' in the freezer! Yore a "Hand" son...and that's the plain truth of it!!! Now don't you let that go ta' yer head none...it'll just make yer hat a might tighter'n it ALREADY is! 19b huh? Well, yore just a piece down the road a little ta' the South and East o' where my 40 acres sits. Damn "Lopes" and Elk traipse across m' property when I'm cuttin' firewood in mid-summer, gearin' up fer' that "short" californy winter.....but do ya' think I can get Drawn ta' hunt there? NO-O-O-O siree bob....ya' gonna be up around Ash Fork in the north of the unit...or down in the panhandle, closer ta' Prescott? Still nuthin' fer' ya' on them Dekes...waitin' for some return phone calls...but mebbe tonight when I get back ta' home...hafta wait an see what developes, but I'll get back to ya' as soon as I know somthin'...ya' got m' word on that....and ya' know I'm a man o' m' word....Hell, you know I'm a man o' MANY words OK, keep yer comments ta' yerself. Take care n' keep the sand outta yer shootin' iron!
Thanks for the info. Dang it. Didn't know you were setting up a deal with them. I happened to order a Dutton last night. It comes with a call and a video. I like videos. I'll send you an email.
This old timer is setting on the porch of a saloon. A cowboy comes riding up and hitches his horse to the post, walks behind the horse and kisses its rear end. The old timer looks in amazement and asks, "Hey Cowboy, why the hell did ya' kiss your horse's backside?"
Cowboy: "Well, I have chapped lips"
Old Timer: "So are ya' sayin' that will cure chap lips?"
Cowboy: "Nope ... but it sure keeps me from lickin' em!"
2 non-resident hunters were chasing lopes in the AZ desert when a 5 ft diamondback rattler sunk his fangs deep into the maximus glutamus of one of the hunters.
Thinking quick, the other hunter called the local Dr. on his cell phone. The Dr told him the that the tried and true method of sucking the poison from the wound was the only hope of saving his dear friend. He said thanks and hung up.
"What did the doc say" said the now worried victim?
"He said give me your new Matthers bow, your Zeiss Spotting scope, and the keys to your 2004 F150 CrewCab!"
"Why did he say that""
"Cause you ain't gonna be needing them much longer."
