KID Thanx for sharing the pics. Sounds like a great trip. How many fish did you catch all together? Where were you fishing?     Thanx  Fubar

We caught the fish near Black Rock which is near Red Hill, we had about 25 corvina with the largest being about 18 lbs, the average was 10 to 14 with a few being in the 4-10 lb range.  The weather wasn't bad for this time of year, 90-95 with a slight breeze all day.

Kid, I've never fished the Salton Sea, but would like to give it a shot.  I've got a 17 ft. Bass Tracker (typical Jon Boat style hull) with a 40hp Merc.  Do I have enough boat?  What are conditions like out there?

Kid  Great catch! The only thing worse than the heat and the horseflys is the stink. It sure stinks around Red Hill.               Fubar

Chris,

Your Bass Tracker is plenty big enough, most of the guys down there are in 14-18 foot aluminum boats.  One thing I forgot in my original post was that all of the corvina were released.

Creole we've fished the Sea in float tubes, rubber rafts, canoes, bass boats and pontoon boats. Even wading will produce some nice fish. Just go! What's the adage "One day of fishing is still better than all the days at work"? Or is that 'better than online'?
