What a difference from the first and obviously botched attempt!
Congratulations on your B&C trophy! That is a fine specimen of the species!
The sentimental value, I believe, is much more than the record books can ever show.
I decided to have my very first antelope mounted, the one in the avatar, which turned out to be a respectable buck.
I found a taxidermist with many references and he had quite an extensive gallery of antelope and mule deer. We took our time in selecting the pose and he made the comment that I had caped him a bit short and made some great caping recommendations if I decided to cape another animal. Good taxidermists generally have a backlog so I wasn't concerned about the 6 month wait. Seven months went by and when I called him he didn't remember the animal but said it would be another 6 weeks. Eight weeks went by and I hadn't heard anything so I called him again and he didn't remember the animal and said that it would be at least another 8 weeks. By that time I was concerned that my trophy may be lost! I got a call 10 weeks later that my mount was finished. He did do an excellent job and I was very pleased with it.
I don't know much about taxidermy but I do know that it took a great amount of skill and creativity to fix your mount the way he did. Again congrats!
