I know silverwood lake has group campgrounds. Who would be interested in a stripper fishing trip and campout at silverwood lake? Great chance to get the family out to see what it is we do for hours a day in front of the computer. I don't have any dates in mind yet, but I was thinking about may or end of june. Lets get all the JR. JHP'ers out there and try and catch some fish. Maybe we could do a JR.  JHP'er stripper derby or father/mother and son/daughter derby. We can think of prizes or something. Well lets see what you guys think, any suggustions?

This stripper fishing you speak of, can we just throw them back when we're done with them?  Catching a stripper would be fun, but if I brought her home to my wife I'd be paying for it for awhile.  :smile-big-blue:

  Hogskin,
Catch and release is fine. You might want to weigh and take pics of it first though. Since stripper fishing is on and off at silverwood, I think it would be best to have all fish species count. Maybe we could do most, biggest, and first fish prizes.

Hogskin,

I'm to blame.  Looks like I didn't push Evan III enough with his spelling homework when he was a little guy. .::smacking-head-mallet:

Maybe if I had been a little harder on him he would know that a "stripper" is a girl/guy who takes their clothes off, and a "striper" is a fish.  :7-bouncin:

He is in college now, so hopefully they'll correct the problem. :rolleyes-green:

It just goes to show you where his head is. LOL.
I think the camp out is a great idea. When it gets WARM out would be good.

How's that?

Just havin' a little fun, guys.

The campout sounds fun.  I'm sure sportyg will insist on me fishing from his boat.

Sounds like fun. I'll try to make that one. Does anyone know if the campgrounds have electrical outlets?

Hogskin,
I sometimes crack myself up too......

If the camp grounds are big enough for my 26' trailer, I will bring it along with a generator, in case there aren't any hook ups.

Camping has gotten so much better since we got the trailer... :big-grin-aqua:

Evan must have gone to school here in Cal.  Hogskin, I think round robin on the boats would be good.. That way hopefully everyone could fish with everone !! We don't know how many boats we will have ?? Hook, looks like everyone is staying at your place  Home on wheels !! The camp ground is acrossed from the lake as I remember it >>> I've never camped there however.. I don't think they have hook up unless there is a second camp ground.. I've driven around it ... Haven't been there in a coupe years however..

Well what can I say I'm a young guy always thinking about ???    Man I need to stop posting at 3 AM when I get home from work. I can't believe I didn't even catch it when hogskin pointed it out. *lol* ..   I was even thinking to myself, "why would his (hogskin) wife get so upset. Anyway I had a good laugh. Well it seems like we will get a good turn out for the STRIPER campout. I understand June 8th is the JHP charter, and there is talk about a yote hunt in carrizo sometime in late June, so maybe july would be better. Maybe the weekend after the 4th would be good?

Sportyg:  I think the campgrounds across the street are thier group campgrounds. I'm not sure, but I think they have campgrounds near the lake, but they are not for large groups.  I'll check into it and find out what I can.

This "stripper" campout should be fun. I'm definitely in! I'll be taking my 12' zodiac.

Do we have a definite date?

I think my wife might have a problem :black-eye: if my "worm" got into a "Stripper" on during this fishing trip, better use a lure. Sounds like a fun trip is May too soon for stripers? what about trout there.

I'll bring the dollar bills ;-) LOL JK

How about July 20th weekend.  I cant make first two weekends of July, but let me be the deciding factor.  Hope it works out.

June 7-9 is resered for JHP Pig-O-Rama

May 25th weekend would also work for me.

Brian,

I don't know if there's any trout in there now (I recall reading something about the DFG owing the lake a couple tons of trout), but I fished there a lot as a kid.  When I was 9 years old caught an 8 1/2 lb. rainbow on a 'crawler.  I battled that fish for over 45 minutes, got it into 6 inches of water and it broke the leader.  I threw the rod down, and dove in after it.  I managed to flip it up onto the shore where it was flapping around wildly.  My dad just stood there like an oaf.  I flew out of the water and dove on it. until my sister could help me grab hold of it.  I'll always remember that fish.

Regards,
Paul
